About Me

Today as an elite behavioural consultant, my passion for supporting, nurturing and educating athletes, coaches and parents has become my focus and driving force.

So as a former senior international athlete, I have learnt quite a bit about passion, dedication and discipline.

From day one I became totally engrossed in the world of high level competition. I developed an obsession for pushing and exploring my physical and psychological boundaries - and gymnastics gave me that avenue.

I believe it was the nature of the sport, the coaching and the peer influences that developed a keen purpose, passion and discipline in me that shaped me into the dedicated and passionate person I am today.

After retiring from competitive gymnastics, I was intent on passing on what I had gained from my sport and exceptionally well travelled life, so it felt like a natural progression to then move into a coaching and teaching career.

Working within both the private sport sector and the educational system, I honed my emphasis on effective communication, believing this being the key to success.

However, the standard models of communication and educational teaching were not enough for me and I guessed for a great many others - I knew there had to be a better way.

With qualifications in Psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, Neuro Linguistic programming, hypnosis and behavioural science so began my search into the human brain and our quirky behaviour. After studying these many different disciplines of behavioural sciences, I quickly realised no one discipline held the magic key to sustainable performance, the key to behavioural understanding or it's modern day mastery.

However, by blending many different key components from psychology and behavioural philosophies I found I was successfully creating sustainable long-term performance results and increased learning capabilities in athletes, students and coaches.

In early 2005, I also started working with children who had been exposed to trauma in their lives. My approach was different from my predecessors in that I have a philosophy of never putting an adult's logic into a child's mind - it just doesn't fit.

The success with these children was the catalyst that encouraged me to put pen to paper and write the ‘Enjoy the Ride' series of children's books. These books have gone on to become best sellers and part of many parents and professionals library of resources.

These books are crafted to stimulate a child's imagination and their natural internal problem solving ability, allowing them to create their own solutions for now and the future.

This passion has taken me the world over, helping to guide children; teaching them how to best manage some of life's more challenging issues on their terms; and stimulating their imaginations through crafted programs and books to enable them to not only cope but to thrive.

I know what it takes to overcome the odds and achieve - and I want to share it with you!
